Vlāmo

An identity you feel before you see

DxTF built the identity for Vlāmo, a fire-led fine dining room, from the name story to the menus, packaging and signage.

Challenge.

A new dining room built around charcoal and open flame. It needed an identity with the same discipline as the kitchen: nothing added for noise, nothing that chases a trend.

Strategy.

Let the room lead. The name points to Vellamo, the Finnish goddess of water. We reimagined her rising from the sea as her robes turn to flame, and set fire and water in one oval seal that becomes the brand's heritage mark on packaging, certificates and stone.

Brand.

One rule runs through every touchpoint: blind emboss over ink, texture over gloss. The mark is felt before it is seen.

Wordmark

Set in Atteron with one change: the crossbar of the A is lifted above the letter as a single flame line. Beside it sits a monogram drawn in the tradition of luxury house marks, used blind-embossed, as a wax seal and as a tone-on-tone pattern.

Colour and type

The palette comes from the room itself: sage plaster, worn stone, charcoal, warm umber and ash, grounded by a warm cream. Atteron, Cormorant Garamond and Jost carry it from the menu to the signage.

In the room

Menus, matches, signage and takeaway all follow the same restraint, so the room does the talking.
